Objectives

As proud supporters of Scottish Women in Sport GRM attended their 2023 awards dinner, celebrating the successes of inspirational athletes and the wonderful work of the teams and volunteers who contribute to their teams and communities.

As sponsors of the Young Sportswoman of the Year award, GRM awarded the prize to triathlete Isla Hedley for her incredible performance across 2023, where she was crowned both World and European Junior Cross Triathlon Champion. After meeting Isla and her mother at the event, GRM agreed to support Isla for the upcoming season.

Strategy

• Deliver sponsorship to support training and equipment needs for the upcoming season.

• Create PR coverage to raise Isla’s profile across the sporting and sponsorship landscape.

• Provide training in media and sponsorship to Isla to enable her to navigate the industry as she progresses.

Outcome

GRM delivered Isla with sponsorship ahead of the start of the 2024 triathlon season, bringing together leading Scottish youth athlete sponsors QTS and British sports marketers SM22, as well as personally contributing. This enabled Isla to purchase her first custom bike, a Trek Madone SLR 7 AXS, which will be a massive boost to her performance in the upcoming season as she strives for the top once again.

GRM have also provided Isla with insight and guidance into the sponsorship and industries. The team have created content and distributed press releases to various sporting and press organisations and are actively supporting Isla for the 2024 season.
